At nxtedition we are reinventing how broadcasters produce and deliver stories. Our platform powers live TV, news and social content for media houses across the world from Expressen in Sweden to public broadcasters in Greenland and Monaco.

We combine scripting, automation, media handling and real time publishing into one system that runs mission critical production environments every day.

You will join a small senior tech team in Malmö where engineers do not wait for tickets but solve problems, shape solutions and take ownership of both product and delivery.

The platform is already built and in production. The focus now is on refining, evolving and extending it in close collaboration with customers.

You will work close to both code and users and your work will ship fast and have direct impact.

Technical responsibilities and requirements

This is a hands on engineering role where you will work across frontend, backend or fullstack depending on your strengths, always close to a complex and evolving production system.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working in deep technical systems where practical decisions, performance and reliability matter more than process overhead.

You should have experience in:

• Node.js development and or frontend development in TypeScript and JavaScript

• Frontend frameworks such as React and libraries like MobX

• Strong problem solving skills and experience delivering production grade systems

• Experience working in environments with high autonomy and limited specification

• Comfortable contributing across the stack in complex product environments

It is a strong plus if you have worked with or are curious about:

• NoSQL databases such as CouchDB and RocksDB

• Search and observability tools such as Elasticsearch and Kibana

• Linux environments and containerization using Docker or Kubernetes

• Media related tools such as FFmpeg, C++, CasparCG, Vulkan or CUDA

• AI integrations such as Whisper or Llama models

• Reactive programming and real time systems such as RxJS and CRDT based architectures

• Cloud environments such as AWS

• Open source projects or contributions

You will also work with integrations towards third party services and social media platforms and help evolve a system that operates in real time production environments.

Who we are looking for

You are a senior engineer who is comfortable in environments where structure is light but responsibility is high.

You have likely worked in a few different companies, ideally including scale ups or smaller product teams, where you have had broad ownership and worked close to both product and users.

You are used to navigating complexity without detailed specifications and you enjoy shaping solutions rather than just implementing them.

You are comfortable:

• making technical decisions in evolving systems

• working directly with customers and users

• taking ownership from idea to production

• operating in a small senior team where everyone contributes broadly

• Swedish language

You enjoy building systems that are live, used and constantly evolving.
